The number of identical copies produced from a single piece of material. In the printing industry, for example, this can be the number of identical masters, printing forms or prints in a shared substrate. Sections of material cut from a larger section are also known as repeats. In the graphic arts industry, the term repeat is used for a piece of paper, cardboard, fabric, etc., of any chosen size which is cut out of a larger piece. In the printing industry, the term is used to designate the number of single copies which can be cut out of a single print sheet.
