A thin strand of glass or plastic that transmits light from one end to the other. As a result, if one end of the fiber is located near a source of light and a colored moving disc, the light at the other end, facing the consumer appears to change color. Fiber optic signs are generally contained in a box or a cabinet and provide an alternative to more traditional forms of signage.
