Reflects light of one color and transmits light of another. In UV printing, Dichroic technology prevents heat producing infrared from reaching the substrate, helping to eliminate sheet distortion or register problems. This is accomplished by several thin layers of coating that, for certain wavelengths create interference reflections. The coatings allow only light of narrow ranges of wavelengths to pass through ( the IR) and reflect the UV rays needed to cure the inks or coatings.
