Compression Test

Involves the application of force applied by two flat surfaces of a machine to opposite faces of a box, such as top and bottom, the two ends, or the two sides. Usually, the test is performed on individual empty boxes, and measurement is taken of the load applied in pounds and the deflection or deformation in one-tenths of an inch. The test is related to the forces that filled boxes encounter while being transported and while stacked in warehouses.
