Color Separation

Breaking down color digital print originals into separate single-color images as required by the particular printing process. For each color that is to be printed separately in the subsequent printing process, a separate color separation needs to be generated which contains the relevant components of the color in question, distributed over the image, and serves as a print specification for this particular color. Generally speaking, the four colors are cyan, magenta, yellow and black in the CMYK color system. Any additional special colors that are printed will also have a separate color separation.
