Svetlana Uduslivaia is a Senior Research Analyst working in Euromonitor International’s Chicago office. In her role, Svetlana manages the research program on Canadian consumer markets and coordinates a team of in-country analysts located in Canada. Previously, she was working as an in-country Research Analyst for Canada and was located in Montreal, Quebec, covering industries such as Pet Food and Pet Care Products, Cosmetics & Toiletries, Packaged Foods, Drinks, and many others. Svetlana has a Master degree in Sociology from Lancaster University, UK, and Central European University (Hungary) and a Bachelor Degree in History from Moldova State University.
She will look at the overall retailing landscape in Canada – current trends and growth opportunities, best performing vs weak categories – as well as will discuss trends in Canadian e-commerce. The presentation will also address future growth opportunities in Canada and will briefly review new concepts deployed by retailers in other countries as “food for thought” with respect to successful strategies for growth.
Gaye Mandel is the Director, Advertising for The Home Depot (Canada) and has been with the company for almost 8 years.
In her role, Gaye has overall strategic responsibility for creative, production and media placement of all legacy and digital customer-facing advertising and promotional activity including television, radio, flyers, signage, sponsorships, in-store experience and gift cards in English and French and to targeted Ethnic groups. She also oversees the brand integrity and integration with homedepot.ca and across all other media touch-points. Gaye joined THD as Senior Manager, Advertising in June 2006. Gaye’s long retail career progressed through more senior marketing and advertising positions at well-known Canadian brands including Shoppers Drug Mart, The Katz Group (Pharmaplus/Rexall), Biway Stores, Pizza Pizza and more. She will present the value, worth and application of digital marketing at retail.
Over the past 15 years, Gary Schwartz has played a leadership role in the mobile industry. Gary is the CEO of Impact Mobile, Inc. (Toronto) and the author of "THE IMPULSE ECONOMY" and "FAST SHOPPER, SLOW STORE." In 2013, Gary was recognized by Mobile Marketer publication as the "Mobile Commerce Evangelist of the Year.” Gary founded Impact Mobile in 2002, a mobile technology company specializing in retail and brand solutions.
He is an alum of Columbia University in New York and the Stanford University Center in Yokohama, where he was the recipient of the Asia and Japan Foundation Fellowship.
Gary will present how the phone in 2014 is becoming less of a Cracker Jack container that acts as a repository of millions of sundry apps, and more of an intelligent device that performs as a server that can manage our world through smart profiling......and more!
