Target is taking a page out of Wal-Mart’s book and creating smaller stores in urban areas. The test TargetExpress store will target a younger, or millennial, audience just like Wal-Mart’s Express stores and Tesco Express stores.

Last week Target started a lease in Minneapolis for a 20,000 sq. foot location, smaller than any of their other stores. It is interesting because Target already has CityTargets, like the one in Chicago that we’ve visited on Retail Tours, but the reason for testing these new, smaller stores is to stay convenient for younger shoppers.
