Maintain Your POPAI Membership for 2006
As the industry’s
non-profit trade association, POPAI’s responsibility for
establishing and maintaining industry standards is in full swing this
year. Our new tagline in the letterhead above is an example of the shift
in industry terminology that has occurred over the past few years. POPAI
has taken the lead in not only standardizing the terminology we use, but
is also working hard to establish new industry standards for
measurement, technology and education. In doing so we are raising the
standards of quality throughout the industry and proving the value our
business in the marketplace.
Setting Research Standards with the Marketing at-Retail
Initiative (MARI)
In partnership with the
Association of National Advertisers (ANA), we are leading an
industry-wide, global initiative to establish measurement standards for
Marketing at-Retail. MARI’s first goal is to devise measurement
standards for Marketing at-Retail programs that are equivalent to and
comparable with Gross Rating Points (GRP). These new approaches will
allow media planners, marketers and retailers to develop fully,
integrated marketing plans from the beginning that include media
schedules for print, broadcast, marketing at-retail, and other
communication channels to reach the intended audiences.
Continuing to Drive the Standards of Learning through
Certification
Our Educational and
Professional Certification programs provide the right blend of academic
and practical hands-on education that raise the standard of
professionalism and quality of work throughout our industry. Whether it
is our industry text book, our web cast programs or our Masters Program
at Northwestern University; your company will stay up to speed on the
new and exciting advances and standards of our ever changing
industry.
Elevating the Standards of Competition
The POPAI Outstanding
Merchandising Achievement (OMA) awards provide a venue for exposure and
recognition for your company’s best designs and creativity while
offering the opportunity to generate new business.
Developing Standards for Emerging Technologies
The Brand Experience Lab,
LLC and POPAI have launched a new joint membership program to test and
verify marketing technology applied in the at-retail environment. The
program provides access to the latest technology being qualified by the
Brand Experience Labs in the Soho district of New York City at a highly
discounted rate for members
The POPAI Digital Signage
Group continues to be a hot bed of activities. So far over 60 member
companies have signed up and the Standards Working Group has already
released its first document of terms and standard system
parts.
Creating New Standards in the Composition of
POPAI’s Board of Directors
This year the make-up of our
board of directors has changed and reflects the over all change in the
demographics of POPAI. In addition to producers, more brands, retailers
and agencies have been elected to serve on the board than at anytime we
can recall in our history.
Raising the Standards for Information
Two out of three of
POPAI’s monthly Newsletters are member’s only sources of
news from the industry’s top publications, research findings and
industry insider activities. At POPAI we are working hard to keep you
competitive by providing you with the single most diverse source of
industry information available. In addition to these outstanding
newsletters, we deliver this valuable industry information through our
website, library and partnerships with industry publications and event
producers throughout the world.
Maintain your POPAI Membership
Today: Remember, standards
are owned by the industry and so is its only non-profit trade
association. Your continued membership assures participation in the
developing standards while driving quality throughout your business.

and have moved Marketing at-Retail forward. Maintenance of your POPAI
