The Marketing at-Retail Certification Program
With Marketing
at-Retail taking a greater role in the marketing mix and becoming more
sophisticated with the inclusion of new elements, including comparable
measurement standards, digital signage, and interactive marketing, the
need for educated professionals is great. In addition, industry
professionals have gotten busier and busier; limiting the time they have
to pursue a certification program.
As a result of these
changes, POPAI has not only modified its core business description to
"The Global Association for Marketing at-Retail," but also re-designed,
re-named, and improved the industry’s only professional
certification program. The Marketing at-Retail Certification
(MaRC) is the new way to identify industry professionals who know
how to produce effective Marketing at-Retail programs that present an
integrated brand experience to the shopper.
MaRC Certification is Achievable
The new MaRC program
requires attendees to earn 27 credits by attending educational events
and then pass a Online exam. The new system maintains the three credit
categories of the old Certified Point-of-Purchase Professional (CPP)
program, but credits have been re-categorized and weighted to help
Enrollees complete the program faster. Programs like the POPAI
University Masters Program, held annually in July, account for 2/3 of
the credits needed for certification and new online programs allow
Enrollees to attend multiple educational programs without traveling. The
changes that have been made to the program will make the process easier
to understand by Enrollees and certification a more achievable
goal.
