2008 ILC Welcome Reception

on board the Battleship New Jersey

Anchors aweigh and welcome aboard!  Please plan on joining us on Wednesday evening, June 4th, on board the Battleship New Jersey as we launch the 2008 Industry Leadership Conference with our Welcome Reception.  You won't want to miss this exclusive opportunity to reconnect with old friends and acquaintances and make new ones!  The battleship, anchored in Camden, NJ, is located just across the Delaware River from our headquarters hotel, The Hyatt Regency at Penn's Landing.  Complimentary transportation will be provided to and from the hotel and the battleship.

The reception will be held on the Forecastle of the ship with the gun turrets and superstructure as our backdrop, along with a panoramic view of the Delaware River and the Philadelphia skyline.  The reception will take place from 6-8:30 pm to give you the opportunity to view the sun setting over the city of Philadelphia while networking with your colleagues.  We've also made arrangements for those who are interested to tour the battleship.  NOTE:  Due to the wooden decks, ladies must wear flats, stacked or wedged-heeled shoes.

With a total of 19 battle and campaign stars, the New Jersey is America's most decorated battleship and surviving warship.  She received battle stars for World War II, the Korean conflict, Vietnam and campaign stars for service off Beirut and in the Persian Gulf prior to Operation Desert Storm.

Her last service occurred in Lebanon in 1984.  Decommissioned in February, 1991, she arrived in Philadelphia on November 11, 1999.  In January, 2000, Secretary of the Navy, Richard Danzig, announced that the battleship would be donated to Home Port Alliance of Camden, NJ for use as a museum.  For more information on the Battleship New Jersey visit www.battleshipnewjersey.org.

This promises to be an exceptional event, and we hope you'll join us for this unique experience!
