CONTEST OVERVIEW
Digital signage is showing up in many places these days; the super
market, post office, public transportation. In recognition of the
importance of this media to marketing and advertising strategy, POPAI,
the Global Association for Marketing at-Retail, built the
industry's Digital Signage Group. To recognize the creativity and
affect digital signage has on the retail environment, POPAI has created
the Digital Signage Awards contest.
This contest will highlight and acknowledge excellence in retail
digital signage. Though held at GlobalShop, the POPAI Digital Signage
Awards contest is separate from the Outstanding Marketing
at-Retail Achievement (OMA) Awards contest. Like OMA, POPAI's
Digital Signage Awards contest will recognize the most innovative and
effective in-store and at retail digital displays. Entries compete for
gold, silver and bronze honors in two divisions: Content and
Network. The divisions are further broken down into 5
categories.
Winners of the POPAI Digital Signage Awards contest will be announced
at the POPAI Awards Gala at GlobalShop.

WHO CAN ENTER
Members of the marketing at-retail industry are
eligible to participate in the Digital Signage Contest. In
order to receive Member designation for entry fees, all POPAI Members
2009 membership dues must be paid by March 1, 2009 or non-member
rates will be invoiced for all entries. Non-members of POPAI can only
enter once as a non-member. For more information on POPAI membership,

Digital Signage entrants
ARE NOT shipped to GlobalShop. POPAI will run photo
images and video content on a loop throughout the duration of
GlobalShop. Judges will view photo image and video content on a video
loop created by POPAI staff.
JUDGES
POPAI is looking for top industry professionals to
judge this year’s Digital
Signage Contest!
The Digital Signage
Contest is judged by a prestigious panel of judges comprised of
producers, brand marketers and retailers identify winners through a
two-round judging process. The first round is done online, where judges
review images and case histories. The second round of judging is done in
person on the at-Retail Marketplace show floor at
GlobalShop. Judges evaluate the actual displays to formulate a final
score. Scores are based on the display’s ability to
increase sales, obtain retail placements and work strategically to
position the brand in the retail environment.
