AWARDS AREA VOLUNTEERS AT GLOBALSHOP
POPAI invites you to serve as an Awards Area
Volunteer for its Outstanding Marketing at-Retail Achievement (OMA)
Award contest.
There are several benefits to serving as an Awards Area
volunteer. Volunteers have the opportunity to:
- Network with other POPAI volunteers.
- See the best displays in the industry.
- Receive a gift and one complimentary ticket ($125 value) to the
Awards Gala.
- Earn 2 credits in category III of POPAI's Professional Designation
and Certification Program (MaRC).
The OMA contest not only allows
me to view the best of today but also to see what the future may hold
for the store as the advertising medium becomes more powerful than ever
before."

Display
Each year, over 700 displays compete in the OMA Awards
for gold, silver and bronze honors. The entries are exhibited in the OMA
Awards Area at GlobalShop and are judged on-site. Volunteers’
participation is invaluable in ensuring the smooth set-up of displays
and the overall attractiveness of the contest area. Details about
serving as a volunteer follow below:
- As a volunteer, you will help organize the display areas and serve
as liaisons between the entrants and POPAI staff during set-up.
- Volunteers arrange the displays within an area and ensure they are
set up correctly.
- Each volunteer team is led by an experienced volunteer marshal; full
instructions and manuals are provided on the morning of set-up. Floor
managers and POPAI staff are available on the show floor at all
times.
- No experience is necessary to volunteer, but you must be a member of
POPAI to participate. Meals will be provided (breakfast and lunch).
